Ophthalmologist - Physician

Duties may include but not limited to: The Ophthalmologist will function as an integral member of the Eye Clinic Team Specialty Clinic and Surgery with clinical and surgical responsibilities. Clinical responsibilities include diagnosis and management of comprehensive ocular pathology. Surgical responsibilities include expertise in cataract extractions with lens implantation and anterior segment laser procedures including peripheral iridotomies, capsulotomies and laser trabeculoplasties. Further training in subspecialties such as retinal disease, glaucoma, corneal disease, and neuro-ophthalmology is welcome. Privileges can include, but are not limited to: admission, diagnosis, and treatment of patients of all ages presenting with disorders of the eye, including its related structures and visual pathways and injuries to the eye. The privileges include the provision of consultation as well as the ordering of diagnostic studies and procedures related to the ophthalmologic problem. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nights, Weekends, Holidays, and On-Call may be required depending upon the needs of the service. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience: Board Certified/board eligible in Ophthalmology.Residency - Completion of a fully accredited US residency program in Ophthalmology. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
